What is tufting?
Tufting is a textile-making technique used to create rugs, wall hangings, and other decorative pieces by inserting loops or cut strands of yarn into a stretched backing fabric using a specialized tufting gun. Once the design is complete, the back is glued for durability, a secondary backing is added, and the front is trimmed and carved to give it a clean, professional finish.
Unlike traditional hand-knotting, tufting is much faster while still allowing for highly detailed, custom designs. It has become popular among artists, interior designers, and DIY enthusiasts because it combines creativity with craftsmanship.
The result is a unique handmade rug or textile artwork that can be used on the floor or displayed on the wall.
